About
My main research is in the area of continental philosophy and aesthetics from Kant to the present. This often overlaps with certain areas of pedagogical research as well as a range of art practices (from music and the performing arts to visual art and literature).
My first book was published in 2005 by Ashgate and is entitled: 'Irony and Singularity: Aesthetic Education from Kant to Levinas.' Sections of this and some reviews will be found in the 'papers' section.
My second book published by Chicago University Press in 2009 is entitled: 'The Philosophy of Improvisation.' Again, excerpts and reviews can be found in the 'papers' section.
I am also a musician composing and performing music in a wide range of genres, from jazz to country music and virtually everything and anything in between. I have put some examples of my music over the last few years in the 'papers' section, most of them at the bottom of the pile, so scroll down there.
I am currently working on a book entitled 'Yes, No, Don't Know' to be published by Chicago University Press.
