About
Dr Eirini Nedelkopoulou is a Lecturer in Theatre at York St John University. Her main research interest in new media theatre and phenomenology partially derives from her Ph.D thesis Mixed-media Theatre: A Phenomenological Exploration of Body/Technology Chiasm in Contemporary Greek Theatre, which focuses on the reconfiguration of both body and space through technology in mixed-media performance.
Her research interests include: theories of embodiment in contemporary performance, multimedia theatre, interactive media, neuroaesthetics, postdramatic theatre, and physical theatre.
She has published on phenomenology, new-media theatre and participation. Eirini Nedelkopoulou is currently working on a co-edited book project, which explores issues of phenomenology in contemporary performance.
She is a member of the Performance and Philosophy working group of the Performance Studies International (PSi) and the Performance and New Technologies working group of Theatre and Performance Research Association (TaPRA).
